Career Preparedness

You will need to have :

Personal headphones—Inexpensive headphones with microphones built in  that I will keep in the classroom for you.  We will put them in a zip bag, and put your name on them.  They will be available to you each class.  We do not share personal headphones. The headphones are the only required item for my class.

One box of tissues—we use them during the year. You will earn three privilege cards when you bring your box. Three privilege cards = one bathroom pass. You will earn privilege cards each day, but this will let you start the first day with enough cards to take care of any emergency.

Wish List of Supplies for Class-not required

If you could choose two items from this list to donate to the class sometime during our year, I know that we will use them:

paper towels-one roll = 2 privilege cards

AA or AAA batteries -each new wrapped battery = 2 privilege cards

copy paper - colored or white -1 pack of 100 sheets of paper  = 5 privilege cards

card stock – colored/white-1 pack of 100 sheets of card stock = 8 privilege cards

page protectors - one pack of 50 protective sleeves = 5 privilege cards

zip lock bags - snack size, sandwich size, quart size, gallon size—1 privilege card per  5 bags

Cleaning wipes-one package = 5 privilege cards.

The privilege cards received will work as our classroom currency.  Students use the cards to “buy” materials and privileges.  We earn privilege cards each day for coming to school and participating in classroom activities—at the end of every two weeks, we have our “payday” and students are able to purchase the privilege of listening to music in class while they work if they have earned and saved enough cards-10 for the full class period, 5 for shortened class time.

You may drop off items to my classroom early—just be sure to label the bag of items with your name and class period so that I can give you the appropriate number of privilege cards.
