8th grade Collaborative

I have a Bachelors Degree in MLBD and a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology.

I have worked  for Scottsboro City Schools for over 14 years. I started out working at the Central Office with the federals program. I worked at different schools within Scottsboro City for a couple of years. Then I moved to the Junior High and have been there at that building for approximately 12 years.  To this day -- I still enjoy working with 7th and 8th graders. They are an important part of my life!
Besides teaching at the Junior High, I am also a consultant for the local Mental Health Center -- I have been doing this for approximately 11 years.  I also love this job!!! This job gives me a chance to give back to the community and stay current of the social and economic needs of our area.
I taught Psychology and Human Growth and Development at Northeast Community College for approximately 10 years.

I really love working in Scottsboro! Not just because I LOVE my job, but also because of the beautiful lakes that I drive by each morning on my way to the Junior High.
I live at Grant with my husband (Bud), son (Zachery), and dog (Gordo). I have been married for 42 years (can you believe it)! I have three children, Melanie, Michael, and Zachery. I also have three grandchildren, Grace, Landon, and Easton. I am better known to my grand-babies as MeMaw -- same as Sheldon on Big Bang Theory-- one of my favorite programs. All my babies are the love of my life -- including Gordo!
I have three brothers and two sisters. They all live (or lived) in or close to the Grant area.  I lost my mom in 2013 -- I still miss her sooooo terribly bad!
Some of my favorite things to do are visit and cook for/with friends and family,  read, work in the yard and garden, gather eggs, fish, ride the fourwheeler, write songs and poetry, sing, and look for frogs and lizards with my grandson, Landon.
Landon loves to visit because I live way back in the woods and we usually find  lots of creepy-crawly things! As a matter-of-fact, I have found frogs in my freezer and/or him carrying snakes around that he thought was not poisonous -- when in actuality they were VERY poisonous! He gives me HEART ATTACHES because of some of the things he ventures into! LOL!
Landon and all my babies (including Bud and Gordo), church, and work keeps my life full and exciting! I LOVE IT!
